Terriers Fall in Game 3.

The Yorkton Terriers found themselves chasing the game early in Game 3, as the Flin Flon Bombers struck first in the opening period.

After a shot was blocked in front, the puck deflected straight to Reid Arberry, who made no mistake—ripping a high glove shot past Callum Creig for his second of the series.

Yorkton showed signs of life in the first, generating a couple of quality looks off the sticks of Vinay Junek and Jye Zawatsky, but Bombers goaltender Charlie Tritt stood tall. Tritt turned aside all seven shots he faced in a penalty-free opening frame.

Flin Flon extended their lead in the second period on the power play, as Joey Lies—making his series debut—beat a screened Creig to make it 2-0.

The Terriers responded midway through the period when Tyler Palin’s point shot found its way through traffic and past Tritt, cutting the deficit in half.

However, the momentum was short-lived. Less than a minute later, Wyatt Stinton restored the two-goal lead, and the Bombers struck again late in the frame on the man advantage, with Landon Alexander converting to make it 4-1.

Yorkton came out with urgency in the third period and was rewarded early. Just 1:09 in, William Léonard snapped a shot under the bar for his first of the series and fourth of the postseason, bringing the Terriers back within two.

But once again, Flin Flon had an answer. Midway through the third, the Bombers scored twice in a 24-second span, with goals from Jack Martin and Connor Miller to put the game out of reach.

The Terriers added a late shorthanded marker courtesy of a Gabriel Courchesne breakaway, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback.

Yorkton now faces a steep uphill climb, trailing the series 3-0 heading into Game 4. Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM tomorrow night.
