The saying goes: you’re never in trouble in a series until you lose at home.
It’s no secret Games 1 and 2 didn’t go according to plan for the Yorkton Terriers, who were outscored 10-3 in the two road losses at the Whitney Forum.
Now, the series shifts back to the Parkland region—Westland Arena in particular—a building that has already played host to plenty of special moments this postseason. The Terriers will host a Canterra Seeds Cup Final game for the first time since 2014, looking to chip away at the series deficit with a big response on home ice tonight.
There are a few key areas that can help Yorkton swing the momentum back in their favour. Discipline will be a major factor. Flin Flon capitalized on the power play in both games—going 3-for-7 in Game 1 and 1-for-4 in Game 2—and limiting those opportunities will be crucial.
At five-on-five, the Terriers will look to dictate the pace, use the big ice to their advantage, and make things uncomfortable for the Bombers. Over the course of a seven-game series, every battle along the boards and every finished check adds up—and that’s an area Yorkton can lean into.
As always, the atmosphere inside Westland Arena is expected to be electric. The home crowd will be ready, and the Terriers know they don’t have to get it all back at once—they just need to start chipping away.
It all begins tonight.
Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM.
