The opening period featured just one goal, and it came on the power play from Anthony Campbell, who beat Callum Creig high on the glove side for his fourth of the season. The Stars carried the play early, outshooting the Terriers 16–7 through 20 minutes.
The second period had a bit of everything. Battlefords extended their lead as Campbell struck again for his second of the night, before Josh Knittig made it 3–0 midway through the frame. Tempers flared soon after, resulting in a parade to the penalty box and two fights — including a spirited tilt between Jake Briltz and Sebastian Miles that brought the crowd to its feet.
After forty minutes of play, the Stars held a 24–18 edge on the shot clock.
In the final frame, the Stars’ lead grew to four when Carter Geyson’s shot found its way past Creig. The Terriers would break the shutout midway through the third period, as Ryder McDonald buried his first SJHL goal to get Yorkton on the board.
With the loss, the Terriers drop to 9-8-1 on the season and will wrap up their four-game road trip tomorrow afternoon in North Battleford.
