The Yorkton Terriers have a chance to wrap up their four-game, five-night northern road trip batting .500 — and if you’re Head Coach Emery Olauson and company, that’s a mark you can be content with. Of course, the group would’ve liked a better result last night, dropping a 4–1 decision to these same Battlefords North Stars. But it wasn’t the loss itself that stood out — it was how they went down: swinging, literally.
Saturday night’s contest featured a pair of fights, including one that came in defense of a teammate. Moments like that can go a long way in building character and forging team identity. It was good to see the Terriers stick together through what was, by all accounts, a frustrating night.
Despite the setback, Yorkton remains above the .500 mark heading into this afternoon’s rematch and will look to close out the road trip with a hard-earned split.
Puck drop from the Access Communications Centre is set for 2:00 PM.
