The 2026 SJHL Draft has come and gone, with the Yorkton Terriers adding 10 new players to the organization’s prospect pool.
The Terriers made six selections in the 2010 Priority Draft, two selections in the 2011 Priority Draft, and also auto-protected a pair of local Yorkton products.
2010 Priority Draft
Round 1 – 11th Overall – Bronson Lamontagne, Forward
Round 2 – 23rd Overall – Lucas Drechsler, Forward
Round 3 – 35th Overall – Jett Prpich, Defence
Round 4 – 47th Overall – Duke Lesnar, Forward
Round 5 – 59th Overall – Lincoln Romaniuk, Forward

Round 1 – 11th Overall – Nash Tomchuk, Defence

Head Coach and General Manager Emery Olauson was pleased with how the day unfolded and the talent the Terriers were able to add to their prospect list.
“We were excited to add a number of our highest-priority selections. Obviously, the only downside of having such a successful season last year is having to wait until 11th overall in each round, but with that being said, we’re very excited about the depth we were able to add to our list. The future continues to get brighter in Yorkton.”
Head Scout Greg Donnally echoed those sentiments and credited the organization’s scouting staff for the work put in throughout the season.
“We had a clear plan going into the draft — identify high-character players who compete, work hard, and fit the identity of our organization — and we felt that plan came together really well. Our scouting staff put in countless hours throughout the year, stayed aligned in what we were looking for, and the entire process ran smoothly.”
Donnally highlighted several selections that stood out from the Terriers’ 2026 draft class.
“Nash Tomchuk brings a combination of grit and offensive ability that we were excited to add on the back end. Bronson Lamontagne is a big, physical forward who skates well and competes hard every shift. Players like Sam Brenner, Lucas Drechsler, Jett Prpich, Duke Lesnar, Lincoln Romaniuk, and Emmett Kihn give us tremendous depth and potential throughout the class.”
“Overall, we’re very excited about this group. We addressed the areas we wanted to, stayed true to the Terriers culture, and added players who can help build on the success we had last season. We’re looking forward to getting them into camp and watching them compete.”
