Story Coming In:

It’s what every hockey fan in Saskatchewan has been waiting to hear for a long time. Opening night in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League for the 2020/21 season. The Yorkton Terriers made through the preseason as the only undefeated team, going a perfect 4-0 against the Melville Millionaires, outscoring them 21-4 in the process. WHL loanees Brett Kemp and Kishaun Gervais led the Terriers with eight and five points respectively, while 17-year-old goaltender Jacob Herman claimed two 30-plus save shutouts.

View from Humboldt:

The Broncos were the only other team in the preseason, asides from Yorkton, to have points in all four games. With three wins and an overtime loss, Humboldt sports a roster that is loaded top to bottom. Led up front by second year forward Logan Kurki, and a host of offensive stars, Humboldt can outscore any team in the league. Starting the season with a home and home with Yorkton tonight and tomorrow, the Broncos will then fave another Viterra Division favourite next weekend, in the Estevan Bruins

Tiger on the Prowl:

A loanee from the Medicine Hat Tigers, Brett Kemp led the Terriers in points during the preseason with eight in three games, including a six point explosion in Melville last Friday. The 20-year-old forward will look to continue his hot streak heading into the start of the 2020/21 season. With 206 WHL games of experience, along with 187 career points, the Terriers expect big things from Kemp during the first half of the season.
