The Yorkton Terriers are flying high, coming off an impressive weekend sweep of the then No. 2 nationally ranked Humboldt Broncos.
It was a full team effort from top to bottom — five players scored their first SJHL goals, the penalty kill came up huge, the power play delivered in clutch moments, and goaltending was rock solid. In many ways, it looked a lot like the 2024-25 Terriers team that found ways to win night after night.
On Saturday at home, Yorkton fell behind 2-0 early but stormed back with five unanswered goals to take the win. That resilience has quickly become this group’s identity — no quit, no panic. After a tough 0-2-1 start to the season, the Terriers rolled up their sleeves, went to work, and made a statement with 5-2 and 5-3 victories over Humboldt.
Tonight, Yorkton looks for some revenge against the Weyburn Red Wings, who have taken both previous meetings this season, including a 6-2 win that spoiled the Terriers’ home opener.
Weyburn enters tonight’s matchup following a split weekend with the Melville Millionaires, including a lopsided 8-4 loss at home. The Red Wings currently sit atop the Bunge Division with a 5-2 record.
Puck drop from Westland Insurance Arena is set for 7:00 PM.
