Series Shifts to Rail City

The Battle of Highway 10 heads to the Rail City as the Yorkton Terriers prepare for their first road game of the playoffs.

The opening two games in Yorkton were, in many ways, mirror images of each other. Both teams earned 4–1 victories, with special teams playing a major role in the outcome. In Game 1, the Millionaires capitalized on the power play and added late insurance in the third period. The following night, the Terriers responded with a power-play marker of their own — along with a rare shorthanded goal while down two men.

Through two games, offence from the blue line has been a key factor for Yorkton. Three of the team’s five goals in the series have come from Defencemen, with Gavin Bartha scoring in both contests and Thomas Ries also finding the back of the net. Gabriel Courchesne picked up his first points of the playoffs and William Léonard netted the game-winner in the second period of Game 2. Between the pipes, Callum Creig was solid, turning aside 22 shots in a strong performance.

Early on, this series is shaping up to be a classic. Fan support has been electric for both organizations, and there’s no reason to expect anything less as the series shifts to Games 3 and 4.
