Series Shifts to Melville With Terriers Up 2-0

The emotions of playoff hockey was on full display in Game Two between the Yorkton Terriers and Melville Millionaires.

The Terriers got off to a excellent start, scoring just 13 seconds into the game, but the Millionaires responded with three unanswered goals.

The Terriers saw themselves down a pair in the middle frame and it was the second powerplay unit that helped them mount a comeback. Powerpaly goals from Vinay Junek and Tylan Henrikson leveled the game at four.

The Mills then look the lead with 47 seconds left in the third and thought they were leaving Yorkton with a split in their hands when Preston Baerwald tipped a point shot passed Etha Farrow, only for Tate Schofer to deliver in the clutch, scoring a dramatic game-tying goal with just 4.1 seconds left to send the contest to overtime, promoting the lid to blow off Westland Insurance Arena.

In the extra frame, Riley Craigen took a costly high-sticking penalty, and the Terriers made them pay. Capitalizing on their third power-play goal of the night, David Coyle buried a perfect Jaron Desnoyers feed, roofing the game-winner to send the Terriers faithful into a frenzy.

With the 2-0 series lead in their back pocket, the Terriers now enter enemy territory and set get for their first road game of thet playoffs in the Rail City tonight.

Expect another electric atmosphere, as fans from across the Parkland region continue to show why Yorkton and Melville are true hockey communities.
