Yorkton’s Mikale Budz Commits to Terriers

The Yorkton Terriers are proud to announce that 2007-born Defenceman Mikale Budz has committed to join the Yorkton Terriers organization.

A Yorkton native, Budz grew up cheering for the Terriers and is thrilled to have the opportunity to wear the jersey himself.

“I’m proud to become a Yorkton Terrier,” said Budz. “Ever since I was a kid growing up in Yorkton, it was always my goal to play for this team.”

When asked to describe his playing style, his answer was simple, Play fast.

“I’m a player who makes the best possible decision in a short amount of time. I use my skating ability to generate offence while also defending my net with strength,” Budz explained.

Over the past two seasons at the AAA level, split between the Yorkton Maulers and Saskatoon Blazers, Budz recorded eight goals and 42 assists.

Head Coach and General Manager Emery Olauson emphasized his commitment to building a program that keeps top local talent in Yorkton.

“Mikale is an elite offensive defenceman whose style fits seamlessly into the way we play,” said Olauson. “We are thrilled that he chose to come home, as he had multiple opportunities in the AJHL and elsewhere. From the moment I saw him play last season, he has been a top priority recruit for us.”

Welcome to the Terriers, Mikale!
