The opening twenty minutes were scoreless, with both goaltenders sharp when called upon. Terriers netminder Callum Creig and Brady Holtvogt each turned aside 14 shots.
Yorkton had the game’s lone power play opportunity but could not convert, managing three shots with the man advantage.
The middle frame finally produced the first goal of the evening, as Gabriel Courchesne unleashed a quick snap shot through traffic that found its way past Brady Holtvogt, giving the Terriers a power play marker and a 1–0 lead. William Léonard and Jye Zawatsky recorded the assists on the Drummondville, QC product’s 29th goal of the season.
Callum Creig turned aside all six shots he faced in the second period, and the Terriers outshot the Broncos 26–20 through forty minutes.
In the third period, the Terriers found some much-needed insurance off the stick of defenceman Tyler Palin, who snapped his fifth of the season past Brady Holtvogt to double the lead.
Vinay Junek added an empty-netter for good measure as the Yorkton Terriers skated to a 3–0 victory.
Callum Creig was brilliant once again in goal for Yorkton, making 34 saves for his second shutout of the season while extending his league-leading win total to 23.
The Terriers return to action next Wednesday when the La Ronge Ice Wolves visit Yorkton.
