Terriers Return Home Looking to Cut Series Deficit

The SJHL Semi-Finals shift to Yorkton as the Terriers look to climb back into the series with a crucial Game Three victory.

Game Two saw the Terriers fall 3-0 on the road in a contest filled with emotion. Despite the loss, Yorkton likely deserved a better outcome, controlling large stretches of the second period and outshooting the Mustangs, but could not solve Kristian Coombs.

So far, special teams have been the key difference in the series. Melfort is 4-for-11 on the power play, while the Terriers are still searching for their first goal, going 0-for-9. After surrendering an early powerplay goal in Game Two, the Terriers made adjustments, standing the Mustangs up at the blue line, taking their time and space away — highlighted by a massive hit from defenseman Tyler Palin on Zac Somers.

Between the pipes, 20-year-old goaltender Ethan Farrow was strong for Yorkton in Game Two, turning aside 24 of the 27 shots he faced.

Westland Arena has been a fortress for the Terriers this postseason, where they are a perfect 3-0, fueled by the relentless energy of the Terriers faithful.

They’ll need that same electric atmosphere again tonight as they take a one-game-at-a-time approach to battle back in the series.
