Logan Cyca scored his first goal of the season and Tommy Bouchard made 27 saves, however, the Terriers fell to the La Ronge Ice Wolves 4-1. Trenton Curtis had a goal and a helper, while four different Ice Wolves scored for La Ronge.

La Ronge opened the scoring early in the first. A face-off win by Cole Thomas went straight to the stick of Seth Dragan, whose shot surprised Bouchard to give the Ice Wolves a 1-0 lead. It was Dragan’s first career SJHL goal. Ice Wolves made it 2-0 a few minutes later. A Curtis shot from the left face-off circle slipped through the pads of Boucher and crawled over the line to double La Ronge’s lead.

Terriers responded late in the second period. A mad scramble in Dawson Smith’s crease saw the puck get pushed out to the blue-line, where Tyson Perkins fired it back on goal, where the biscuit took a deflection off of Cyca and in. Yorkton looked for the equalizer in the third, but it was La Ronge who struck. A turnover by Dalton Mayes allowed Ethan Strik a breakaway on Bouchard, where Strik slid the puck through the pads of the goaltender, making it a 3-1 game. Connor Abric wrapped up the scoring with a blast on the power-play, giving La Ronge a 4-1 lead.

The Terriers will return to the ice when they hit the road for three straight nights. It starts on Thursday night in North Battleford, where Yorkton will take on the league leading North Stars at the Access Communications Centre. The game will be broadcast on GX 94 with the pre-game show starting at 7:20pm and play-by-play kicking off at 7:30pm.
