When a team begins a new season, they set out a list of goals they hope to accomplish. Last night, the Yorkton Terriers checked one off that list: winning the Bunge Division.
The Terriers captured the division title with a thrilling 4–3 overtime victory over their Highway 10 rivals, the Melville Millionaires. Fittingly, the two teams will meet again to close out the regular season—this time in Yorkton.
Despite clinching the division, there is still plenty on the line for the Terriers. Yorkton is still eyeing second place in the SJHL standings, and with a victory tonight they could leapfrog the Battlefords North Stars. That would set the stage for a potential playoff rematch with the same Millionaires squad the Terriers defeated in five games during last year’s SJHL playoffs.
All eight playoff spots are now locked in—it’s simply a matter of positioning as the league enters the final night of the regular season.
Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM. Come out and give the boys a proper send-off before the playoffs begin! 🏒
