The Yorkton Terriers finished their seven game road trip the same way they started it, being shut out 2-0. The Melfort Mustangs were led by a 17 save performance by 17-year-old net-minder, James Venne, and goals from Leyton Holoien and Ben Tkachuk.

The Terriers thought they had the lead in the early stages of the first period when  a Clay Sleeva shot rang off the post and stayed out. After a couple more close calls at both ends, Melfort got the icebreaker. Holoien scored his first career SJHL goal with a wrist shot from the point, beating a screened Kael DePape to make it 1-0.

There would be no more scoring until the early stages of the third period. A Terrier turnover at their own blue-line allowed Tkachuk to walk in on goal, and he beat DePape on the glove side. Yorkton pushed to get on the scoreboard, however, the Mustangs played an excellent defensive game, limiting the Terriers chances.

DePape stopped 20 of 22 Mustangs shots, while the power-play went 0/4 on the night. The Terriers will now return to the Westland Insurance Arena where they will host the Kindersley Klippers on Tuesday night. The game will be broadcast on GX 94 with the pre-game show starting at 7:20pm and the play-by-play getting underway at 7:30pm.
