Yorkton ended a three game road trip with a 7-0 drubbing at the hands of the Melfort Mustangs. David Rioux and Dawson Leroux each had a three point night, while James Venne stopped all 28 Yorkton shots in the victory.

Melfort opened the scoring 1:09 into the contest. Riley Ashe found a wide open Zac Somers on the backdoor for the Teddy Bear goal at Northern Lights Palace. Less than two minutes later Melfort struck again. A wrist shot from Leroux hit a Terrier and eluded Allen, to make it a 2-0 game. Melfort added one more in the first period. Rioux stick-handled his way into the slot and let a backhander go that slid through the legs of Allen. That ended the night for the Lone Tree, Colorado product and he was replaced by Tysen Smith.

Melfort continued their onslaught in the second period. Kevin Minnoch blasted a shot on the power-play past a screened Smith, to make it 4-0 Mustangs. Ben Tkachuk made it 5-0 with a highlight reel effort, pulling the puck around Aiden Knutson before wiring a shot past Smith. Then Somers scored his second goal of the game, on the power-play, with a one-timed bomb from the right face-off circle to make it 6-0 Mustangs. Melfort added one more goal in the third period. A point shot from Leroux was stopped by Smith, before Rioux scooped the rebound past the Yorkton net-minder to make it 7-0.
