It’s the first of back-to-back home games for the Yorkton Terriers as they look to get back into the win column tonight against the Battlefords North Stars.
Tonight’s battle with the Stars marks the fourth and final meeting of the season. The Terriers have dominated the series so far, winning all three games and outscoring the Stars 25-11, including a 10-5 romp at Westland Arena on January 12th.
The Terriers enter tonight’s matchup sitting fourth in the SJHL standings with 51 points, just five points behind Weyburn for first place in the Viterra Division, with a game in hand. They are well-positioned to capitalize on their home-heavy schedule, as they play only five of their remaining 14 games away from Westland Insurance Arena, where they have been strong with a 12-7 record.
The same tight standings apply to the Stars, who come into tonight’s game in sixth place, two points behind the Terriers, albeit with two more games played. However, the standings are so close that the fifth through eighth seeds are separated by only four points. With each game becoming increasingly important as the season progresses, tonight’s matchup is crucial for both teams.
Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM, and you can catch the game live on FloHockey.
