Terriers Add More D for 2024-25 Season
The Yorkton Terriers are very excited to announce the signing of 2006 Napa Valley product James Durfee.
Durfee made the trip from California to the Yorkton Terriers spring camp two weeks ago and was impressive said Yorkton Terriers Head Coach and GM Emery Olauson." James impressed us very much at camp. We knew he was going to be a player to watch as he previously had been awarded top dman at the NAHL combine in Anaheim.” Olauson goes on to say he is a very smooth 2 way defensemen who skates well and I believe will be a contributor offensively right away. I am very excited to add James to our d-core and welcome he and his family to the Terriers!
2,794 km is the distance that separates James’s hometown of Napa Valley, California and his new hockey home in Yorkton,Sk. When making the decision to sign in Yorkton James said, “The Terriers came highly recommended by people that know hockey and the coaches like and encourage my style of play. As an offensive defensemen, I'm all about speed and setting up scoring chances on the rush. I love being in the mix and
making things happen upfront.
Losing graduating D-men, (C) Tyson Perkins, (A) Quintin Unreiner and Dalton Mayes moving on after their final season, recharging the back end was on the menu for the Terriers.
When asked what he was most excited for when the new 2024-25 season starts, Durfee said “Winning games and getting to hang out with the fans. Can't wait to hit the ice and feel that energy from the crowd.”
Welcome to the Terrier Family James!
