ESTEVAN, SK: Keenan Ingram scored two third-period goals, and Callum Creig stopped all 23 shots he faced as the Yorkton Terriers blanked the Estevan Bruins on the road.
In the first period, it was the road team opening up the scoring on a two-man advantage powerplay. Dustin Renas found Jaron Desnoyers at the side of the net, deflecting his team-leading 9th of the season past Bruins goaltender Kyle Kelsey. Jeff Hammond picked up his 11th assist on the season on the play.
The Terriers went 1/2 on the powerplay, while the Bruins went 0/2. The Terriers carried a 1-0 lead into the second period and outshot the Bruins 9-5.
In the middle frame, there was no scoring, and both teams had a powerplay opportunity. The Terriers had double-digit shots with 13.
In the final frame, the Terriers would add to their lead midway through the third. Keenan Ingram was the benefactor of a three-way passing play between William Léonard and Quinn Tavender as he beat Kelsey glove side for his 4th of the season and third as a Terrier.
Ingram would add another late goal into the empty net to ice the game, as Callum Creig stopped all 23 shots he faced for his first SJHL shutout and stayed perfect on the season, improving to 3-0.
With the win, the Terriers improve to 7-2 on the season and into first place in the Viterra Division, and will now gear up for a home and home with the Melville Millionaires, Friday at home and Saturday in Melville.
Standout Performers:
