YORKTON, SK: Jake Briltz has been rewarded for his strong start to the 2026-27 season, earning Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League Forward of the Week honours.
The 20-year-old Regina product has been a key contributor for the Terriers through the opening four games of the season, recording three goals and four assists for seven points.
Briltz has already nearly surpassed his offensive totals from last season. In 36 games during the 2025-26 campaign, he recorded one goal and eight points.
With an increased role and more minutes this season, Briltz has made the most of his opportunity.
“Jake has had an amazing start to his season and is seizing his opportunity with more minutes this season,” said Terriers Head Coach and General Manager Emery Olauson. “His hard work and grit are paying off.”
Briltz and the Terriers will look to keep the momentum rolling this weekend with a pair of games.
Yorkton will host the Flin Flon Bombers on Saturday night in a rematch of last season’s Canterra Seeds Cup Final before heading to Weyburn on Sunday evening to close out the weekend.
Puck drop for Saturday’s matchup is set for 7:00 p.m. at Westland Arena.
