Briltz Commits to SAIT Trojans

YORKTON, SK: The Yorkton Terriers are proud to announce that graduating forward Carter Briltz has committed to the SAIT Trojans men’s hockey program for the 2025–26 season.

The 20-year-old Regina native capped off his junior hockey career with a standout campaign, tallying 10 goals and adding 25 assists for a total of 35 points over 55 regular-season games, establishing himself as a key contributor in all areas of the ice.

Briltz’s impact extended beyond the scoresheet, earning him two team awards, including the prestigious Yorkton Terriers Unsung Hero Award—recognition for his tireless work ethic, leadership, and team-first mentality.

“Carter is the kind of player you don’t win without,” said Terriers Head Coach and General Manager. “It isn’t the flash, but how well he does everything. He brings all his teammates up, leads quietly, and makes his linemates and teammates better. SAIT added a great teammate, player, and person!”

Reflecting on his time with the Terriers, Briltz was full of gratitude:

“I have nothing but good things to say about the whole Terriers organization, from the coaches, to everyone behind the scenes,” said Briltz. “Although I was only here one year, it was some of my favourite times in junior hockey. The city of Yorkton and the support we got was amazing. I’m grateful I got to finish my last year here with the group of guys we had and go on the playoff push we did. My billets were amazing and we have become like family, so I want to thank them for everything they did.”

As he looks ahead to the next chapter, Briltz is excited to join the SAIT Trojans while pursuing post-secondary education:

“I am happy I have the opportunity to continue playing and go to school while I do it. I’ve heard nothing but good things about SAIT and am excited to get going there in the fall.”

The Yorkton Terriers congratulate Carter on his commitment and wish him all the best in his academic and athletic future with the SAIT Trojans.
