Zach Cain scored a pair, Cory King had a two point, while Kenneth Marquart made 25 saves and the Flin Flon Bombers downed the Yorkton Terriers 4-1. Clay Sleeva had the lone Yorkton marker, while Caleb Allen was excellent in goal, stopping 36 of 40 Flin Flon shots.

The Bombers played a perfect road period in the first, outshooting the Terriers 18-6. They were rewarded for their efforts with a pair of goals. Brent Gulenchyn opened the scoring, after a turnover at the Yorkton blueline created a 2-on-0. Less than three minutes later, Flin Flon struck again, as King rifled a shot past a screened Allen to make it 2-0. The scoring dried up until the last minute of the second period. Lucas Fry couldn’t handle a bouncing puck and Cade Kennedy flipped the biscuit to a wide open Sleeva, who knocked the puck out of mid-air for his 14th goal of the season to make it 2-1.

The Terriers had plenty of opportunities to tie the game in the third, but Brett Butz missed a couple of glorious opportunities, while Marquart robbed JD Hall with the glove in tight. Allen did his best to keep his team in it, stealing not one, but two goals from Kylynn Olafson. Midway into the third period, the Bombers found some insurance. A point shot from King was stopped by Allen before Cain tapped home the rebound to make it 3-1. Then 18 seconds later, Cain added his second of the night to make it 4-1.

Yorkton is back in action on Friday night when they renew the Battle of Highway 10. GX 94 will broadcast the game against the Melville Millionaires with the pre-game show starting at 6:50pm and play-by-play kicks off at 7:00pm from the Horizon Credit Union Centre.
