A two point effort by both Kishaun Gervias and Karsten Kruska led the Yorkton Terriers to a convincing 4-1 victory over the Weyburn Red Wings. Kael DePape stopped 19 shots in the victory, while Carter Herman, in his first career SJHL game, tallied an assist.

Yorkton struck early in the first period. Gervais sprang Carson Henry on a breakaway on Dazza Mitchell, and the St. Albert product beat the Weyburn goaltender for his 9th goal of the season. Greg Nelson extended the Yorkton lead just 13 seconds later. Maddux Nollski spotted a wide open Nelson, who scored his 4th goal of the year, giving the Terriers a 2-0 lead.

After a scoreless second period, Gervais scored 21 seconds into the third period. Splitting the defence, Gervais went one-on-one on Mitchell, beating him on the blocker side to make it 3-0 Yorkton. Weyburn found a little bit of life. After Tanner Sklaruk blew a tire at the blue-line, Kirk Mullen charged in on a breakaway against DePape, sliding it under the Yorkton net-minder to make it a 3-1 game. Steven Norum sealed the game with an empty net goal and Yorkton walked away with a 4-1 victory, for their third win in a row.

Yorkton will continue their road trip tomorrow night against the Nipawin Hawks. GX 94 will broadcast the game with play-by-play kicking off at 6pm.
