Medernach Named to Western All-Star Challenge

YORKTON, SK: Yorkton Terriers rookie forward Tyson Medernach has been selected to represent the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League at the upcoming Western All-Star Challenge, taking place November 2nd to 4th in Martensville, Saskatchewan.

Medernach has enjoyed an impressive start to his rookie campaign with the Terriers, quickly establishing himself as one of the team’s top offensive contributors.

Through the first 12 games of the 2026-27 season, Medernach leads the Terriers in scoring with 14 points, including five goals and nine assists.

The young forward has made an immediate impact in his first SJHL season, earning the trust of the coaching staff while continuing to develop his offensive game.

For Medernach, the opportunity to represent the SJHL alongside some of the league’s top talent is an exciting honour.

“I’m super excited and honoured to be named to the roster. I hope to continue to grow as a player and person, and I’m excited to play with all the great players and hopefully have a successful showcase,” said Medernach.

The Terriers rookie credits his early-season success to growing confidence, strong chemistry with his teammates and the opportunities provided by the coaching staff.

“My success early on this season has come from having confidence with the puck, as well as creating great chemistry with my teammates. A lot of the success comes from the work we put in as a team and the trust my coaches have in me.”

Medernach will now look to carry that momentum into the Western All-Star Challenge, where he will have the opportunity to showcase his talents alongside some of the top junior hockey players in Western Canada.
