Farewell To The 20’s: Tylan Henrikson

Talk about a player who continued to improve with every season in Terriers colours. After recording four points in his rookie campaign and 23 in his second year, Henrikson took another step forward in his final season. Named team captain, he posted a career-high 32 points while appearing in every game.

The Foam Lake, SK product said it was a true honour to wear the “C” for such a historic SJHL franchise.

“Being named captain and leading this group is something I’ll cherish forever. Being trusted with that responsibility helped me grow in so many ways. When you look back at the captains before you and realize your name is now among them, it’s truly an honour.”

When reflecting on his three seasons in orange and black, the power forward points to the relationships as what stands out most.

“The relationships I’ve built are something I’ll never forget. From billets, teammates, fans, and team staff—everyone had such a big impact on my time here. The culture we built within the Terriers organization is really special.”

Henrikson’s impact wasn’t limited to the ice. Last season, he was named the RBC Ambassador of the Year, recognizing his strong commitment to the community. From helping with minor hockey to visiting schools, he quickly understood just how much the Terriers mean to the city of Yorkton.

“Throughout my time here, I tried to embrace that and give back whenever I could. Taking the time to have a conversation or help out can have a bigger impact than you might realize.”

Over 139 games with the Terriers, Henrikson compiled 18 goals and 59 points, while adding another 10 points in the playoffs.

Looking ahead, Henrikson plans to pursue post-secondary education and explore potential apprenticeship opportunities.
