It’s a historic afternoon at Westland Insurance Arena as the Warman Wolverines make their first-ever trip to Yorkton to take on the Terriers. This marks the second meeting of the season between the two clubs, with the previous matchup coming in late October up north—one that saw the Terriers cruise to a 7–2 victory, powered by a four-goal explosion from William Léonard.
The Drummondville, QC product has been on quite a roll as of late. Léonard enters today riding a four-game goal streak and already sits at 15 goals—five more than he finished with all of last season. He’s operating at well over a point-per-game pace and doing so alongside his longtime friend and linemate, Gabrielle Courchesne, who has been equally impressive. Courchesne sits at 30 points on the year, good for fourth in the SJHL scoring race, and continues to be one of the league’s most dynamic playmakers.
For Yorkton as a whole, things are trending in the right direction. The Terriers appear to be dialing in their identity, leaning into their speed, structure, and depth—resulting in victories in seven of their last ten outings. They’re fresh off a dominant 5–1 road win in Estevan on Tuesday night and will look to carry that momentum into this afternoon as they aim for their third straight win.
Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 PM at Westland Insurance Arena.
