KINDERSLEY, SK: Dawson Karol had four goals and an assist as the Kindersley Klippers defeated the Yorkton Terriers 8-5 on home ice.
The Terriers got off to the start they wanted, opening the scoring 3:51 into the game as Riley Cormier sprung Keenan Ingram on a breakaway, and he made a deke to the backhand and lifted it past Brett O’Halloran for his 7th of the season.
The Klippers would respond with goals, as Cobe Perlinger and Dawson Karol beat Creig for a 2-1 lead.
The Terriers would reply quickly as Aiden Knutson found Tyler Palin in front for his 5th of the year.
Karol would pot another one shortly after his second of the night.
The back-and-forth action continued as Dustin Renas dashed down the left wing and snapped a shot past O’Halloran, tying the game 3-3.
The Terriers were outshot 12-10 in the opening twenty minutes.
In the middle frame, the Klippers aded to their lead 45 seconds into the period as Alex Mack beat Creig blocker side for a 4-3 lead.
Moments later, the Klippers added another one, this time on the powerplay as the puck popped up in the air and in past Creig for a 5-3 lead.
After a big hit in front of the Terriers bench by Stein Dostal, Quinn Schutte took exception, as the two dropped the glove.
Dawson Karol would complete the hattrick past the midway point of the period.
That goal chased Creig, allowing 5 goals on 21 shots.
Evan Auld breathed a bit of life into the Terriers with a goal with 20 seconds left, as the Terriers trailed 6-4 after 40 minutes.
In the third period, the Klippers would pull away with goals from Ethan Sautner, and Karol added another one for his 4th of the night.
Vinay Junek would get one back for the Terriers; he is up to 5 goals on the season.
Ethan Farrow stopped 14/16 in relief.
With the loss, the Terriers fall to 7-7 on the season and will wrap up their four-game road trip tomorrow night against these same Klippers at 7:30.
