The Yorkton Terriers entered the CN Community Centre last night with one goal in mind—securing home-ice advantage for the first round of the playoffs. Mission accomplished. Thanks to an electrifying third-period comeback, where they scored four unanswered goals, the Terriers stormed to a 6-3 victory.
It was an emotional game, as expected, with these two teams set to meet in the playoffs for the first time since 2014.
David Coyle was up to his usual tricks, pulling off yet another Michigan goal—his 32nd of the season. Meanwhile, Thomas Ries continued his stellar rookie campaign, netting a pair of goals, including the game-winner. His 11 goals now rank second among rookie defensemen.
Tonight marks the final game of the regular season for both teams and one last chance for the Terriers to play in front of their home crowd before what they hope will be a deep run in the 2024-25 SJHL Playoffs.
Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM at Westland Arena. Expect a fantastic atmosphere and a packed house. See you there!
