Terriers Welcome Bombers for Finals Rematch

YORKTON, SK: For the first time since last spring’s Canterra Seeds Cup Final, the Yorkton Terriers and Flin Flon Bombers will meet tonight at Westland Arena.

While both rosters have seen plenty of changes since their playoff showdown, there are still 23 players combined who were part of those postseason rosters last spring — 12 returning with Flin Flon and 11 with Yorkton.

The Terriers enter tonight’s matchup with a 2-1-1 record, coming off a 1-1-1 road swing that included stops in Warman and Kindersley.

Yorkton has already received goals from 11 different players through its first four games, with last week’s SJHL Saskatchewan Forward of the Week leading the way.

Jake Briltz is off to a blistering start, recording a point in each of the Terriers’ first four games. The Regina product has three goals and four assists through four games.

Austin Horbachewsky has also been productive early in the season. The West Kelowna product has six points through his first four games.

The Bombers come into Yorkton tonight closing out a lengthy four-game, five-night road swing. Flin Flon opened the trip with a loss in Melville on Tuesday before bouncing back with consecutive wins in Weyburn and Estevan.

The Bombers also made significant changes to their lineup over the offseason following last season’s run, including the departure of Ryan Ulmer, Jack Martin and Leo Sietz to Humboldt as part of the blockbuster deal at last year’s trade deadline.

Now, for the first time since their seven-game Canterra Seeds Cup Final, the two clubs will meet again.

Puck drop is set for 7:00 pm.
