LA RONGE, SK: Vinay Junek scored with 3:23 left in the third as the Yorkton Terriers Erased a 4-1 deficit to stun the La Ronge Ice Wolves 6-5.
The Ice Wolves jumped out to an early lead as Jacob Cossette beat Farrow, opening the scoring.
The Terriers would answer on the man advantage as Dustin Renas tipped his first of two on the evening past Logan Falk.
La Ronge would get goals from Cossette and Sage Roberts as the home side carried a 3-1 lead into the break.
The start of the second period didn’t go according to plan for the Terriers as La Ronge added another, this time from Tyson Mathews.
But as they have shown all year, they can score in bunches and that they did with four unanswered as Renas, Evan Auld, and Wiliam Léonard scored a pair to give the Terriers their first lead of the night 5-4.
However, the lead lasted all 1:03 as Dmitri Toporowski scored a powerplay marker, tying the game at five.
In the third period, Ethan Farrow slammed the door with a couple of big saves to keep the game tied.
The Terriers continued to stick with it and were rewarded late as Vinay Junek directed his 4th of the season past Falk, and it stood up as the game-winner.
The Terriers outshot the Ice Wolves 38-29, went 3/4 on the powerplay, and killed off 3/4 La Ronge powerplays.
Ethan Farrow stopped 24 of 29 to improve to 5-3 on the season.
With the win, the Terriers move to 7-6 on the season and have now won the first two games on the lengthy four-game road trip.
They will enjoy the day off tomorrow before shifting their focus to Friday and Saturday, back-to-back games vs the Kindersley Klippers.
