The SJHL trade deadline has come and gone, and the Yorkton Terriers are staying the course. Head Coach and General Manager Emery Olauson has chosen to stand pat, placing confidence in the group that has positioned the team near the top of the SJHL standings. With a strong foundation already in place, Olauson is betting on his roster to deliver results as the playoff race intensifies.

The Terriers are set to face their toughest test of the season: a first encounter with the defending SJHL champion Melfort Mustangs. The Terriers head into this matchup following back-to-back losses against the Weyburn Red Wings, including a 7-4 defeat on the road this past Tuesday.

The Mustangs, perennial contenders and a benchmark for excellence in the league, recently had their impressive 17-game winning streak snapped by the Battlefords North Stars. This game offers the Terriers an opportunity to measure themselves against one of the league’s elite teams.

Fans can expect an electrifying showdown featuring standout goaltending, two of the league’s most potent offences, and powerplay units tied for first at an identical 24.8% efficiency.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 PM at Northern Lights Palace, and the game will be available to watch live on Flo Hockey.
