Terriers Set to Host Klippers at Home

The Yorkton Terriers are gearing up for a pair of home games this weekend as they welcome the Kindersley Klippers to Westland Arena.

Yorkton comes in off a strong week, collecting six of a possible eight points with wins over Estevan, Nipawin, and La Ronge. Their lone setback during the stretch came at the hands of the Flin Flon Bombers.

Much of that success has been driven by the Terriers’ top line, which has been on an impressive roll. Over the four-game span, Gabriel Courchesne recorded five goals and three assists, William Léonard scored four times while adding five helpers, and Jye Zawatsky showcased his playmaking ability with eight assists and a goal of his own.

Those performances did not go unnoticed around the league. Courchesne was named Forward of the Week, Léonard earned MVP of the Week honours, and Zawatsky was recognized as Saskatchewan Player of the Week.

The Terriers find themselves in a strong position in the standings, having won eight of their last ten games. With just 35 games played — tied for the fewest in the league — Yorkton sits one point back of Estevan and five points out of first place in the Bunge Division.

Meanwhile, the Klippers are in the midst of a four-game road trip and have already dropped contests in Weyburn and Estevan.

Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM.
