For the first time in eight games, the Yorkton Terriers will look to rebound from a loss. Their eight-game unbeaten streak was snapped by the Estevan Bruins Saturday night on home ice.
Despite the defeat, there were positives to take away. Cash Lanigan recorded a pair of points and now has points in five of his last seven games; his 36 points are tied for second in rookie scoring. Riley Cormier found the back of the net for the first time, while Vinay Junek continued his strong play with a three-point effort.
This afternoon, the Terriers hit the road for a Family Day matinee, with a 3:00 PM puck drop against the Humboldt Broncos. Yorkton sits first in the Bunge Division by two points, while the Broncos are tied with the Melville Millionaires for the final playoff spot with 47 points. If the season ended today, Humboldt would be on the outside looking in at the playoff picture — so expect another desperate, urgent group ready to challenge the Terriers on home ice.
