Terriers Set for High-Stakes Final Weekend

It’s crunch time, and the Yorkton Terriers’ eight-point division lead has shrunk to just two as the final weekend of the SJHL regular season arrives.

The Terriers will look to snap a three-game slide after dropping a home-and-home set with Weyburn and a Sunday afternoon matinee in Melfort last weekend. The math is simple: win one of the final two games of the season against the Melville Millionaires and the Terriers will clinch their first division banner in six years. Yorkton also holds the tiebreaker over Weyburn, thanks to more regulation wins.

Battling through adversity is never a bad thing over the course of a season, but the Terriers will be looking to rediscover the form that made them so consistent through the middle stretch of the year, when they rattled off 21 wins in a 25-game span. There’s no reason to panic in that room — wins are hard to come by at this time of year — but the Terriers will need to dig deep with so much still at stake.

Puck drop from the Rail City is set for 7:00 PM.
