YORKTON, SK: The Yorkton Terriers are off to a great start to the season and come into tonight tied atop the SJHL Standings with Melfort Mustangs, Melville Millionaires, and tonight’s opponent, the Kindersley Klippers as the four remaining 3-0 teams.
Last night, the Terriers did something they haven’t done in over four years: win a game inside Elgar Petersen Arena in Humboldt.
It was quite the statement as the Terriers jumped the Broncos with a three-goal first period and went on to win 6-2.
Jaron Desnoyers continued his hot start to the season with his 6th of the campaign, but the biggest story was the depth of the offence, as six different scorers found the back of the net.
Ethan Farrow continued his superb start to his 20-year-old season, boosting his save percentage to .934 after stopping 27 of 29 he faced on the road in Humboldt.
A Look At The Opposition
Tonight is the first of four meetings with the Kindersley Klippers, who are coming off a come-from-behind victory last night, as they erased a two-goal decision and left with a 4-2 win on the road in Nipawin.
It’s a battle of two strong penalty kills; the Klippers are a perfect 15 for 15, and the Terriers are 14/15 through three games.
They are led up front by the Perlingers, as Cobe and Cam have four points through three games.
In the crease, Brett O’Halloran has started all three games and has a .927 SV%
Puck drop is at 7:00 PM, and you can catch the game on FloHockey.
