The Yorkton Terriers return to action after the SJHL Showcase, where eight of their players, their Head Coach and Trainer had the opportunity to represent the team.

Keenan Ingram, David Coyle, Jeff Hammond, Dustin Renas, and Jaron Desnoyers suited up for one of the U20 squads, combining for ten points in the tournament.

On the Young Guns side, head coach Emery Olauson led the team, with Thomas Ries, Bryce Dahl, and William Léonard representing the Terriers. Despite strong performances, they dropped both games in shootouts.

Tonight marks the first of two games this week, as the Terriers host the Notre Dame Hounds before traveling to Estevan for a Sunday evening matchup.

This will be the third meeting of the season between the Terriers and Hounds, with both teams splitting the first two decisions. Their most recent clash was a 4-3 loss for Yorkton in Canora during Hockey Day in Saskatchewan.

The standings are tightening, with the Terriers holding onto the fourth seed. However, Battlefords, Melville, and Kindersley are all within striking distance. That said, Yorkton has games in hand on all three teams as they aim to regain momentum.

Jaron Desnoyers looks to extend his impressive 10-game point streak tonight against Notre Dame. Six of those games have been multi-point performances, including a four-point night against rival Melville. Desnoyers is currently tied with Ingram for third in SJHL scoring.

Westland Arena has been a fortress for the Terriers this season, as they’ve posted an 11-6 record on home ice, winning seven of their last ten games. With 11 of their final 17 contests set to be played at home, they’ll look to capitalize down the stretch.

Puck drop is at 7:00 PM, and fans can catch the action live on FloHockey.
