Cohner Saleski had a pair of goals, while the Terriers scored more than two markers for the first time in 2023, en route to a 3-2 overtime win over Weyburn. Pavel McKenzie had the game winner in the extra frame, while Caleb Allen was phenomenal in goal with 46 saves in the victory, and Yorkton now finds themselves 10 points out of a playoff spot.

Weyburn opened the scoring in the first period. Off of a defensive zone turnover, Ty Mason wired home a shot for his 19th goal of the season to make it 1-0 Red Wings. The Terriers responded in the dying stages of the frame. Saleski entered the Weyburn zone and rifled a drive past Matt Schoephoerster with 31 seconds to go.

The Red Wings restored their lead in the middle frame, while on the power-play. A shot from Matteo Turin bounced fortuitously to Ian Maier, who made no mistake with an empty cage. Yorkton came out flying in the third period to tie the game once again. Saleski went flying down the left wing and picked the top corner for his second of the game and fifth of the season, making it 2-2.

60 minutes solved nothing between these two teams for the second straight game. Yorkton had the majority of the possession in overtime and were rewarded. A Terrier bounce unleashed McKenzie on a breakaway, and the Cumberland House product cashed in for his 10th goal of the season, gifting the Terriers a 3-2 victory.

Yorkton is back in action on Wednesday when the Flin Flon Bombers come to town. GX 94 will broadcast the game with the pre-game show at 6:50pm and play-by-play starting at 7:00pm
