Story Coming In:

The Yorkton Terriers finished their four game home-stand with a 1-3 record after falling to the Notre Dame Hounds on Saturday, 4-2. Erik Boers and Carson Henry both tallied for the Terriers, however, Yorkton went 0 for 6 on the power-play, and sits in last place in the league on the man advantage. Outshooting their opponents has not been an issue for the Terriers, as they have accomplished this feat in four of their five games. However, the bounces have not gone the way of the T-Dogs early in the season. Now on the road in Warman, the Terriers look to get back in the win column against a skilled Flin Flon squad. The road won’t get easier, as their next opponent will be the Battlefords North Stars on Tuesday, before a home and home series against Melville over the weekend.

View From Flin Flon:

The Bombers are in the midst of a dog fight for the top of the Sherwood Division. Flin Flon is coming off a weekend sweep of the La Ronge Ice Wolves, with Nathan Gagne posting five points in the two games. Gagne and Mercier lead the Bombers in points, both with seven in five games. Flin Flon has the third best offence in the league and the top power-play unit in the SJHL. So far, the Bombers have proven they can outscore anyone in the league. After tonight’s game, Flin Flon will play three straight matches against the Kindersley Klippers, with the first being played on Tuesday.

Waking Steve-O:

It’s no secret that 20-year-old forward Steven Norum has had a slow start to the 2021/22 season. With only two assists in five games, Norum hasn’t produced at the rate expected for the overage centre. While Norum’s play defensively has been valuable, the Terriers are looking to take the next step offensively, and they need to get their 20-year-old forward going. Norum has proved that he can produce near a point a game rate, as shown during last year’s COVID shortened season. Fans of the Terriers sense that if Norum can get his first goal of the season soon, then the floodgates will open for the Terrier forward.
