The Yorkton Terriers kick off the unofficial second half of the season tonight with a matchup against their Highway 10 rivals, the Melville Millionaires. It’s the fifth meeting of the season between the two clubs, with the season series deadlocked at two wins apiece.
Yorkton will be a little shorthanded, as Jye Zawatsky and captain Tylan Henrikson are both away at the Viking Cup in Camrose. The duo will be battling for the gold medal this afternoon against SAIT, with puck drop set for 12:00 PM.
Despite the absences, the Terriers will look to carry the momentum they built heading into the Christmas break. Yorkton picked up wins over Weyburn and Estevan to close out the first half, outscoring the pair 12–5, and has earned points in eight of its last ten games.
The Bunge Division remains tightly contested. The Terriers sit three points back of the second-place Estevan Bruins and eight points behind division-leading Weyburn, while holding two games in hand on every team in the division.
Puck drop tonight is set for 7:00 PM. Fans are also reminded to grab their Deltec Power 50/50 tickets, with tonight’s jackpot guaranteed at $5,000.
