The Yorkton Terriers enter 2025 as one of the hottest teams in the SJHL, riding a season-high six-game winning streak after an impressive comeback on Monday night. They scored five unanswered goals to secure a 5-2 victory over the Melville Millionaires.

This afternoon, they will aim to achieve something they haven’t done yet this season: win at the CN Community Centre. So far, they are 0-2 in that venue, with each home team claiming victory in the five meetings between these two teams this season.

One player who might not want the calendar to flip to January is David Coyle. His incredible form continued on Monday night as he netted two more goals, marking his third consecutive multi-goal game. Coyle’s red-hot performance capped off a stellar nine-point December, propelling him up the league’s top scoring chart with 28 points in 25 games.

The trio of Coyle, Desnoyers, and Hammond is evoking memories of the dominant stretches last year from the top line of Desnoyers, Domina, and Hammond. This promising synergy bodes well for the Terriers as they kick off 2025.

The team’s depth has been a key factor in their success, with different players stepping up each night. All but six players have reached double-digit points this season, and the Terriers currently boast three of the league’s top ten scorers.

This afternoon’s game starts at 2:00 PM. You can catch the action live on FloHockey or listen to the broadcast on GX94.
