Story Coming In:

The Yorkton Terriers dug deep and found a way to snap their three game losing skid, as they beat the Battlefords North Stars 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday. Tresor Wotton was spectacular making 33 saves in the victory, while Kishaun Gervais scored the game winner. Now, the Terriers are playing what is, in essence, a must win game. With every one of the last 12 games feeling like a playoff game, tonight’s battle against the Kindersley is crucial to keep the 9th place Klippers off the Terriers’ backs. The last time these two teams met, Yorkton took home a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Clay Sleeva and Tyson Janzen. Defense has shined when these two teams play, and in this must win game, it’s expected that offensive chances will be far and few between.

View From Kindersley:

The Klippers are beginning to heat up at the right time. Having won seven of their last ten, including three in a row, the Klippers have knocked off good teams like Melfort and La Ronge during that stretch. Now, battling for their playoff lives, the Klippers host the Terriers for the first time at the West Central Events Centre. Kindersley has won two of the three games these teams have played, thanks to the goal scoring of Jaxon Georget. Matthew Pesenti has also been a rock in Kindersley’s goal, as the 20-year-old looks to lead the Klippers into the SJHL’s final eight. And keep your eyes on rookie Tylin Hilbig who has been a revelation this season and is in the conversation of the SJHL’s rookie of the year.

Mr 100:

Colby Vranai played in career SJHL game 100 against the Battlefords North Stars on Tuesday night. The Yorkton product doesn’t post a lot of points for the Terriers, however, it’s Vranai’s defensive prowess that makes him so valuable. An exceptional penalty kill specialist, Vranai can harass the opposing team’s top players to the point of frustration, throwing them off their game. In his final season of junior hockey eligibility, Vranai looks to continue his strong play for the Terriers, as the playoff race nears its conclusion.
