YORKTON, SK: Rivalry night is here! What better way to wrap up 2024 than with a showdown between the Yorkton Terriers and the Melville Millionaires?

Tonight marks the fifth installment of the Highway 10 Battle this season, with every home team holding serve so far. The most recent clash saw the Millionaires secure a 4-1 victory.

The Terriers enter tonight as one of the hottest teams in the SJHL, riding a five-game winning streak—a feat they’ve now accomplished three times this season. Key to their success has been a combination of stellar goaltending and a rejuvenated power play. The goaltending tandem of Ethan Farrow and Callum Creig has been exceptional, with both netminders achieving double-digit wins—the only duo in the league to do so.

After some early-season struggles, the Terriers’ power play has surged to near the top of the SJHL rankings. Operating at an impressive 23.7% efficiency, it’s currently second-best in the league.

This week is a busy one for the Terriers, as tonight’s matchup kicks off a stretch of four games in six days. They’ll face the Millionaires again on Wednesday in Melville before hosting Estevan and Weyburn on Friday and Saturday, respectively.

For the Millionaires, the Christmas break provided a much-needed reset. Before picking up two wins to close out the first half of the season, Melville endured a difficult 3-12 stretch, with Head Coach and General Manager Doug Johnson searching for offensive solutions after leading scorer Cayden Drury departed for the BCHL’s Brooks Bandits.

One player the Millionaires will lean on tonight is Jadon Iyogun, who leads the team with 27 points. However, Iyogun is currently in a slump, going pointless in his last four games. He has enjoyed success against the Terriers this season, tallying six points across the four previous meetings.

Get ready for an exciting rivalry clash as the Terriers and Millionaires face off to close out the year in style! Puck drop is at 7:00 PM, and you can watch the game on Flo Hockey.
