Terriers Host Division Leaders

Saturday Night. Division Rivals. Yorkton. Weyburn.

It doesn’t get much better than this, folks!

The Terriers are riding high after a 3-2 victory last night against the Nipawin Hawks. Their captain Jaron Desnoyers made his much-anticipated return to the lineup and wasted no time making an impact. He contributed two assists and was instrumental in shutting down seven Hawks power plays. Jeff Hammond also played a pivotal role, adding a pair of assists in the win.

With momentum on their side, the Terriers are gearing up to host the division-leading Weyburn Red Wings, who are coming off a come-from-behind win over the Flin Flon Bombers.

These two teams are no strangers to each other. Tonight marks the eighth and final meeting of the season, the most of any opponent for the Terriers. The season series has been a rollercoaster for both sides. The Terriers dominated early, winning four of the first five matchups, but the Wings responded, taking the last two games and outscoring the Terriers 10-6.

The Terriers will look to keep their fortress intact at Westland Insurance Arena, where they’ve been formidable this season with an 11-5 record—despite playing the fewest home games in the SJHL. That will soon even out as the Terriers find themselves in the midst of a stretch with six of their next seven games on home ice.

A player to watch tonight is Former Red Wing Keenan Ingram who has three goals and three assists in five games against his former team this season.

This matchup has all the ingredients of a playoff atmosphere, and you won’t want to miss it!

Reminder: Bring non-perishable food items to the game! Each item you bring enters your name into the draw for a PlayStation 5.
