YORKTON, SK: The Yorkton Terriers will try and make it two wins in a row and seven of their first eight tonight on the road when they battle the Weyburn Red Wings.
It’s the third meeting of the season between these two division rivals. They opened the season with a home and home, and the Terriers won both, 6-1 and 5-3, respectively.
Last night, the Terriers bounced back from a tough loss to Humboldt by defeating the Nipawin Hawks 3-1 at home.
Callum Creig was superb in net, stopping 25 of 26, and the Terriers got goals from Dustin Renas, Thierry Laliberté and Jye Zawatsky. James Durfee also made his Terriers debut on the backend.
Ethan Farrow likely draws back in for the Terriers as he is 2-0 against the Wings early in the season.
Tonight marks the Terrier’s third road game of the year; they are 2-0, picking up wins in Humboldt and Weyburn.
A Look At The Opposition:
The Wings are a much different team than the Terriers just saw two weeks ago. Since their last meeting to open the season, they have added Jaxson Ruthven, Jerome Maharaj, and Ethan Dekay. They also traded forward Keenan Ingram to the Terriers last week.
In goal, on paper, the Wings seem to have one of the best goaltending tandems in the SJHL with Dazza Mitchell and Angelo Zol between the pipes…however, it’s been a slow start for Mitchell with a .877 SV% through two starts this season.
Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM from Crescent Point Place.
