The Yorkton Terriers’ impressive winning streak has come to an end. After going undefeated for 37 days, they suffered their first loss of the new year as the Weyburn Red Wings edged them out 3-2 on Sunday afternoon.
Tonight, the season series shifts back to Crescent Point Place for the seventh meeting between the two teams. The Terriers have won four of the previous matchups, including two on the road. The Viterra Division standings remain tight, with the Terriers holding a slim three-point lead over Weyburn, who also have a game in hand. As the SJHL trade deadline approaches on Friday, both teams could see roster changes before their final meeting on January 25.
The Terriers aim to bounce back tonight by solving Weyburn’s Angelo Zol, who was outstanding in Sunday’s game, stopping 29 of 31 shots to earn his 14th win of the season.
Yorkton’s offensive firepower remains one of their strengths. With three of the league’s top five point-getters on their roster, the Terriers have scored a league-best 16 goals since the calendar turned to 2025, including back-to-back seven-goal performances.
Puck drop is set for 7:00 PM, and fans can catch the action live on Flo Hockey or listen on GX94 Radio.
