Terriers Head to Kindersley for Weekend Back-to-Back

The Yorkton Terriers are back on the road tonight, opening a two-game weekend set against the Kindersley Klippers.

The two teams will meet for the first time this season at the WCEC, with puck drop set for 7:30 p.m. Friday night. The teams will then go right back at it Saturday night at the same time, wrapping up the weekend with a back-to-back against one another.

The Terriers enter the weekend with a 1-0-1 record through their first two games of the season.

Yorkton opened the campaign with a convincing 6-2 victory over the Estevan Bruins before falling 5-4 in overtime to the Warman Wolverines on Tuesday.

Despite the loss, the Terriers continued to show plenty of offensive depth, with four different players finding the back of the net against Warman.

Nathan Ramos scored his first SJHL goal in the contest, while Jake Briltz, Alex Morrison and Aidan Vallance also added goals for Yorkton.

The Klippers, meanwhile, come into Friday’s matchup with a 1-0 record after opening their season last Friday with a 3-1 victory over the Battlefords North Stars.

Friday’s matchup will be the first of four meetings between the two clubs this season.

The Terriers and Klippers split their four-game season series last year, with each team picking up a win at home and on the road.

With two games in two nights, both teams will be looking to start the weekend on the right foot before quickly turning their attention to Saturday’s rematch.

Puck drop is set for 7:30 p.m. from the WCEC in Kindersley.
