YORKTON, SK: The Yorkton Terriers head north for their toughest test yet—the Humboldt Broncos. The Terriers are off to a terrific start to the season, which saw them take two games from the Weyburn Red Wings, powered by their top line.

The trio, led by Captain Jaron Desnoyers, Jeff Hammond, and rookie William Léonard, has a combined 21 points and is responsible for eight of the 11 goals.

Head Coach and General Manager Emery Olauson says it will be a good test for the group.

“They have a big strong bunch of Defenders, who play fast and heavy. They are one of the best teams in transition, and they play with a ton of pace, said Olauson. “We will have to manage the puck well and limit neutral zone turnovers,” continued Olauson.

A key in this game might come down to special teams. The Terriers penalty kill is off to a strong start, killing off 11 of 12. The powerplay has yet to strike in the six tries.

The Bronco’s powerplay is off to a red-hot start, clicking at a 38.5% clip, and they have killed off five of six penalties.

The battle in goal will be fun to watch from afar, as Ethan Farrow is 2-0 to start the year with a .935 SV%. In the Broncos crease, Edouard Gauthier is also 2-0 with a .927 SV%

Puck drop is 7:00 PM from Elgar Peterson Arena, and you can listen to the game on FloHockey or GX94 with Benny Walchuk.
