The Yorkton Terriers continued their three-game road trip with a 6–3 loss to the first-place Flin Flon Bombers on Saturday night at the Whitney Forum.
Special teams was a factor early, as Flin Flon opened the scoring on the power play late in the first period. Yorkton answered in the second when Gabriel Courchesne converted on the man advantage, finishing a setup from William Léonard and Thomas Ries to tie the game. After the Bombers regained the lead, Courchesne struck again just nine seconds later, snapping home his second of the night to pull the Terriers even.
Flin Flon responded with another power-play marker before the end of the second and carried momentum into the third period, scoring twice in the opening half of the frame. Yorkton briefly pushed back when defenceman Tyler Palin scored his first goal as a Terrier, jumping into the rush and burying a feed from Cash Lanigan.
Despite the push, the Bombers added an insurance goal late to seal the victory.
Callum Creig made 18 saves on 24 shots in goal for Yorkton, while Charlie Tritt stopped 16 of 19 to earn the win for Flin Flon.
The Terriers now turn their attention to the final stop of the road trip, tomorrow afternoon in La Ronge, puck drop is 7:00 PM.
