The Yorkton Terriers got exactly the start they needed in Game 4 and never looked back, rolling to a dominant 7–2 victory over the Battlefords North Stars to even the series at two games apiece.
Yorkton opened the scoring on the power play just over six minutes into the first period, as Vinay Junek slipped a backhand past the blocker of Spencer Michnik for his fifth goal of the playoffs.
The Terriers kept pushing and were rewarded again, doubling their lead later in the frame. Jye Zawatsky snapped home his fifth of the postseason off a slick feed from William Léonard, with Tyler Palin also picking up an assist.
Both teams had a pair of power-play opportunities in the opening period, but it was Yorkton that controlled the pace, outshooting the North Stars 15–5.
Battlefords responded early in the second period, as Raiden Zacharias beat Callum Creig glove side to cut the lead to 2–1.
But from there, the game tilted heavily in Yorkton’s favour.
The Terriers’ power play came alive in the middle frame, and the offence followed. Gavin Bartha struck twice—once with the man advantage—for his fifth and sixth goals of the playoffs.
The backend continued to produce as Thomas Ries added another on the power play, slipping a shot five-hole on Spencer Michnik for his seventh of the postseason.
Kaeden Serpa took over in goal for the North Stars in the third period after Michnik allowed five goals on 26 shots.
Yorkton didn’t let up in the final frame.
Cash Lanigan and William Léonard each added their third goals of the playoffs as the Terriers continued to pour it on.
The North Stars found the back of the net late, with Alessio Nardelli scoring his second of the series, but it was little more than consolation in a 7–2 final.
For the Terriers, it was a much-needed response, evening the series at 2–2 and regaining home-ice advantage as the matchup shifts back to Yorkton.
Game 5 is set for Saturday night at Westland Arena, with puck drop at 7:00 PM.
