The Yorkton Terriers opened their four-game, five-day road swing with a 3–1 loss to the Flin Flon Bombers on Tuesday night at the Whitney Forum.
The Bombers jumped out to an early lead, striking twice in the first period with goals from Joey Lies and defenceman Sam Ward. Flin Flon controlled much of the opening frame, outshooting Yorkton 13–4 through 20 minutes.
In the second period, the home side extended their advantage when Reid Arberry found the back of the net on the power play, making it 3–0.
The Terriers showed some pushback in the third, as Zach Hertz buried his third goal of the season to get Yorkton on the board. Despite generating more pressure late, that’s as close as they would come, as their three-game winning streak came to an end.
Goaltender Callum Crieg stood tall between the pipes for Yorkton, turning aside 34 shots in the loss.
The Terriers will look to bounce back quickly as they continue their northern road trip Wednesday night in La Ronge against the Ice Wolves. Puck drop is set for 7:30 PM.
